Santa Claus and Christmas Eve.

Dec 23, 2010. Santa Claus

Dec 23rd, Marshall played Santa for some the of the children in our church AWANA group that wouldn't have otherwise had a Christmas. We went to three families houses. It was definitely a humbling experience and to see the joy on those children's faces is ALWAYS priceless. This is the 2nd year that we've done this at our church and I pray that we always do this for these and more families!

On Christmas Eve, we had Christmas with Mamaw and Papaw JB, mom and Uncle Steve. We ate delicious food. Of course, it's always delicious at papaw and mamaw's! The girls got more gifts and we had a great time in fellowship with our family. When we got home from mamaw's, the girls and I made Jesus a birthday cake! :-) It didn't look all that good, but it was the thought that counted and we know that Jesus loved it! :-) This is a family tradition and I pray that through this tradition the girls realize the true meaning of Christmas and that it's not all about the gifts that they get or even those that they gift...Christmas is about the one true GIFT from God.

"What is it?"
I truly enjoyed watching Annslee open gifts this year! Every wrapped present that she unwrapped, she would say "what is it," even before she had the first strip of paper torn. She's grown so much since she was brought into this world and I try to remind myself every minute of every day not to ever take her for granted. She is my first born and has taught me so much about myself. She was definitely a blessing to my life and she's strengthened my relationship with God and her daddy to degrees beyond degrees!
Addison killed me this year too. She wasn't really interested in opening presents. She let Annslee "help" her open all her presents (which in reality means, she let Annslee open hers too) and she played with all the new toys! They are definitely a pair together. They are opposites, yet one isn't complete without the other. It's truly a blessing to watch them grow up so close together. God definitely knew what he was doing when He gave them to me 15 months apart. :-)
